Why we eat the way we do?

The relationship we have with our spouse or partner is relatively simple compared with the one we have with food. At times, we’re in control, but then we break down and indulge in eating behaviours that we know are not good for us. 

So, what’s with the love/hate relationship we have with food? According to scientists, our eating habits are influenced by a number of external influences, ranging from plate size to food marketing and labelling, to the volume of food at a meal. Equally important, say the experts, are the internal influences, such as how we allow ourselves to disconnect from our food choices and lose interest in what we’re eating.
